Rehabilitation Support Worker – Peterborough

The Client

Tim is a friendly, busy and active 30 year old man who lives in his family home with his mother and twin brother.

Having suffered a brain injury at birth, Tim has mild learning disabilities and dyskinetic cerebral palsy, he can also experience fatigue and low mood. Regardless of his challenges, Tim embraces a host of interests and hobbies he likes to be actively involved in. Tim can see and hear well and is able to make his wishes known. He has his own car and holds a full driving licence.

Interests & Hobbies
Tim is a passionate football fan, supporting Chelsea as well as the more local Peterborough United, where he goes to all of the local matches. He also loves boxing, going to the gym, going to concerts, comedy nights, quiz nights as well as more restful interests including watching films, listening to music and gaming on his PS5. Tim enjoys using his hot tub, particularly after a gym or other exercise session and requires some support with this.

The Role

The purpose of the Rehabilitation Support Worker role is to support Tim’s independence and confidence to do all the things he loves to do. The successful candidate will need to be a sociable, energetic and positive character who will ideally share some or all of the same interests as Tim. There is likely to be the opportunity to accompany Tim on day trips or evenings out as well as the occasional holiday or short break and the availability to take on these extra hours when required is essential.

Tim lives at home with his family where you will be required to support the daily rehabilitation programmes which have been put in place by his team of therapists. These principles and techniques will also need to be implemented in the local and wider community when supporting Tim. The successful candidate will be required to help with some Client related domestic chores including planning activities, managing budgets and household tasks as well as helping to maintain the hot tub.

Rates of Pay

Monday – Friday: £15.00 per hour
Saturday & Sunday: £17.00 per hour
Bank Holidays: 1.5 times usual weekday hourly rate

Hours of Work

35 hours per week, 5 days – 09:00-16:00
