Female* Rehabilitation Support worker – Chelmsford
Are you outgoing and interested in supporting a disabled young person to participate in her hobbies and interests?
The Client
Our client is a 15 year old girl with moderate learning disability and mild motor disorder. She is looking for a support worker to go with her to her after school activities which include accompanying her to her dance club and other activities. You will be expected to support her to go to the venues that are around Chelmsford and encourage her in her various hobbies, including some sports.
The Role
This role does not include any personal care or administration of medication. The client is vulnerable due to the nature of her difficulties, and you will be expected to safeguard her while supporting her to participate in activities.
You will be working with a team of professionals including a clinical psychologist, speech therapist and physio. Bespoke training is available. You must be an excellent communicator who is able to use their initiative as well as having a sense of fun and some awareness of youth culture and interests.
Rates of Pay
Weekdays £15 per hour
Weekends £16 per hour
Hours of Work
Term time (Just over 10 hours per week)
Monday 15.30 – 18.30
Thursday 15.30 -18.30
Friday 16.20 – 21.00
School holidays
Hours worked between Tuesday to Thursday at negotiated hours
Overtime opportunities available, particularly in the school holidays.
Person Specification
A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out. Driving licence essential.
