Support Worker and Waking Night Support Worker(s) – Enfield

Would you like to join a friendly team of professional Support Workers providing care to an engaging and affectionate young man within a happy family home? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

The Client

Our Client is a happy 20 year old young man who sustained injuries at birth which have resulted in cerebral palsy which affects his entire body, developmental delay and learning difficulties. He is unable to communicate verbally but you will quickly get to know his cheeky nature and learn to recognise the signs when he wants or needs something, when he is happy or sad, enjoying an activity or is tired. Our Client requires support in all areas of his day-today life including personal care, peg feeding and implementation of his therapy programme.

Our Client lives in his family home and his family are actively involved in his everyday life, providing additional support and guidance to the team if needed. Our Client is naturally content and has an appealing character; he thrives with the interaction of happy, positive people around him, loves to be chatted to and especially enjoys tactile play and other sensory activities at home. The feel of the sunshine or wind on his face is a firm favourite and he loves to be out and about in the fresh air, whether its listening to the wind in the trees at a local park or in the hustle and bustle of the local community.

The Role

We are looking for experienced Support Workers/Waking Night Support Workers to join this friendly team providing Client focussed support. Our Client relies on his care team for all of his physical, emotional and psychological needs and it is vital that candidates appreciate the need to promote his independence, working alongside the other professionals involved in his care.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake personal care, manual handling, peg feeding and administer medication as well as some Client related domestic tasks within the home. You will also be required to implement our Client’s daily therapy programme following training from the multidisciplinary team.
It is a requirement of the role that you should have a full UK driving licence and have some experience of driving an adapted vehicle so that you can transport the Client as and when required.
